uPVC window with integral blinds, Leagrave

This is a small bathroom window in Leagrave, and the blind is inside the glass rather than in front of it. Obscure glass takes the view away through the day, and the blind is the part you can turn up and down.

Installed

Product One uPVC casement window
Blind Notan magnetic integrated blind
Control Magnetic, tilt and lift
Slat colour White (BY001)

We fitted the window and the blind as one thing. It is one uPVC casement window with a Notan integral blind sealed between the panes, so what you are looking at is a glass unit with a venetian inside it. A small opening like this one is a good place to see it, because the whole blind is in view at once.

Obscure glass and a blind do different jobs, and a bathroom is where that shows. The glass keeps the daylight and takes the view away, all day, without anyone touching it. The blind is the part that changes: down and closed at night when the light is on inside, tilted for some shade in the morning, and up out of the way when you want the window clear.

Two magnetic sliders run up the frame beside the glass. The top one tilts the slats and the bottom one raises and lowers the blind. Nothing crosses the glass, and there is no cord, which is worth having in a room with a bath in it. Because the blind is sealed in, the steam and the dust stay on your side of the glass. You clean the window, and the blind stays as it was.

The slats are white, BY001, chosen to sit with the white frame so the window reads as a plain window when the blind is up. Notan make nine standard slat colours, including anthracite grey and black, with bespoke RAL to order, so the blind can be the thing you notice instead if that suits the room. The frame is white uPVC.
