Colour options for Fenster windows and doors.

Frame colour changes how a window or door sits against brick, render, roofline and hardware. The two materials get their colour in completely different ways, which is worth knowing before you choose: uPVC is finished with a foil bonded to the profile, aluminium is powder coated. Both can be a different colour inside and out.

uPVC colours.

A uPVC colour is a foil, bonded to the profile at the factory rather than painted on afterwards. That is why the woodgrains have a grain you can feel, and why the colour does not need repainting. The frame underneath stays white, so you will see white on the rebate when the window is open unless the foil is specified on both faces.

Aluminium colours.

Aluminium is powder coated: dry pigment sprayed onto the profile and baked on, so the colour is part of the surface rather than a layer sitting on it. The finish is quoted as a RAL number with a matt, satin or gloss level, which is why these read as codes rather than names. Dual colour means two separate coats, one on each face.

Composite door colours.

A mix of standard colours and RAL matches, shown as the paint itself rather than as a flat colour. The standard range runs wider than this, and any RAL colour can be matched beyond it, so if you have a shade in mind it is worth asking. A screen will always shift a tone, so the doors are worth seeing at the showroom.

Integral blind colours.

These are the slats themselves, sealed inside the glass, not a frame finish. Nine are standard and bespoke RAL is available to order. White/Anthracite is the one to look at twice: it is white on the room side and anthracite outside, so the same blind can suit the room and the elevation at once. The frame around a blind unit takes the colour of whichever window or door it is built into.
