Commercial glazing contractors
Commercial glazing, surveyed and installed by the people who fit it.
Windows, doors, curtain walling, louvres, AOV and replacement glazing for occupied and live commercial buildings. We survey from your drawings or from the building itself, and we sequence the work around how the building has to keep operating.
What we install
Six commercial packages, each with its own specification.
Most projects take more than one of these. Send the whole scope and we will tell you which parts we would price together.
Commercial windows and doors
Aluminium and uPVC windows, doorsets and entrance screens, surveyed and installed as one package.
Curtain walling
Glazed facades and entrance screens, with spandrel and insulated panels set into the same grid.
Louvres and ventilation
Blade centres from 30mm to 95mm, physical free area from 43.5% to 57%, sized to the schedule.
AOV smoke ventilation
Automatic opening vents formed within the window line, fitted with the glazing and tested before handover.
Automatic doors and entrances
Glazed entrance packages set out around the operator, the access control and the escape route.
Commercial replacement glazing
Failed and broken units replaced at height and at size, with the floor still in use. No maximum unit size.
Buildings we work in
The constraint is rarely the glazing.
What decides a commercial job is usually the building around it: who is in it, when it can be closed, and what cannot stop. These pages are written around that rather than around the product.
Schools and education
Planned around term dates, phased by block, DBS and induction as the site requires.
Student accommodation
Worked back from a September handover that cannot move, usually on a conversion.
Hotels and hospitality
Phased by floor, wing or room, because the cost that matters is the rooms out of service.
Care homes
One room opened, glazed and closed the same day, with restrictors to your own assessment.
Offices and retail
Out of hours where trading demands it, floor by floor or unit by unit.
Healthcare and clinical
Sequenced against the treatment list, with infection control deciding the route.
Industrial and logistics
Office and welfare glazing on buildings that run shifts, sequenced around the yard.
Project proof
Recent commercial work, with the photographs from the job.
Ribbon windows and an entrance door, Pincents Kiln, Reading
Four aluminium ribbon windows and a commercial entrance door for an industrial unit refurbishment, powder coated to a special colour to match the new cladding.
Curtain walling to the hall, St Albans School
A Smart MC600 Plus curtain wall replacing an outdated timber system in a school hall, with a fire exit door, finger guards and blackout film for a room used as a performance space.
Period-style windows, The Green Man, Eversholt
Twelve windows in a village pub, mechanically jointed with astragal bars so they read as timber rather than plastic.
How an enquiry moves
From brief to installed, without the guesswork in the middle.
The aim is to read the scope properly at the start, while everything is still cheap to change. Most of what decides a glazing package is visible on day one.
Send what you have
Drawings, a window schedule, elevations or photographs. A postcode and a description is enough to start.
We read it properly
Building type, access, programme, performance targets and the gaps in the scope, before anyone talks about price.
Survey and specify
Measured on site rather than off the drawing, because a refurbished building rarely matches it.
Sequence the install
Manufacture, access, phasing and daily handback agreed against how the building has to keep working.
Before you enquire
What contractors ask us first.
Where do you carry out commercial glazing?
Nationwide across England and Wales. Our residential work is concentrated around Milton Keynes, but commercial schemes are not limited to that radius.
What can you put on a pre-qualification questionnaire?
Constructionline Gold, SSIP accreditation for health and safety, and DBS-checked operatives for schools, care settings and any site where the check is a condition of access.
Can you work in a building that stays in use?
Yes, and most of this work is. Phasing, access routes, out-of-hours working and daily handback are agreed at quote stage rather than discovered in week two.
Do you work to our drawings or survey it yourselves?
Either. We work from your drawings and schedules where you have them, and from a site survey where you do not. On refurbishments openings are measured one by one, because a refurbished building rarely matches the drawing.
How do we get a price?
Send the drawings, elevations or schedule to commercial@fensterglazing.com and we will price against them. There is an enquiry form on every commercial page that takes attachments if that is easier.
What we can put on a pre-qualification questionnaire.
- Constructionline Gold Pre-qualified for public and private sector tendering.
- SSIP accredited Health and safety assessed under the Safety Schemes in Procurement umbrella.
- DBS-checked operatives For schools, care settings and any site where the check is a condition of access.
Commercial enquiry
Send the drawings and we will come back with questions, not a brochure.
Attach elevations, a window schedule, site photographs or performance notes. Anything still open in the scope, we would rather settle now than price around.
- Drawings, schedules or elevations
- Access, programme and occupied hours
- Performance targets where they are set
