Education
School and education glazing
Window, door and curtain walling replacement for schools, academies and colleges, planned around the school year rather than against it.
Scope of works
Most school glazing is decided by the calendar before it is decided by the specification.
A school is only empty for a few weeks a year, and those weeks are when almost every other trade wants to be on site too. The specification usually turns out to be the easy part. What decides the job is how much of it can be finished before the pupils come back.
We have worked on school sites including Shaftesbury School, Witchford Village College, Merchant Taylor and Leagrave SEN. Send us the elevations and the term dates together, because we cannot price the second one out of the first.
Specification

- Safety glass

- Safeguarding
- DBS-checked operatives and site induction where the school requires it.
- Fire rating
- Fire-rated glazing supplied to the rating the specification calls for.
- Programme
- Phased by block or by holiday, sequenced against your term dates.
Every figure published here is one we can stand behind. Ask us for anything the table does not cover and we will send it to you in writing.
Scope
What we take on across a school estate.
Classroom windows
Replacement windows in teaching spaces, with restrictors and safety glass where the opening needs them.
Entrances and screens
Glazed entrance screens and doors, coordinated with access control where the school already has it.
Curtain walling
Larger glazed elevations on halls, atria and newer teaching blocks.
Phased programmes
Work split by block or by holiday so the school keeps running around it.
Working around a live school
The awkward part is not the glazing, it is the safeguarding.
On an occupied school site the route from the compound to the elevation matters as much as the elevation. Pupil separation, signing in, supervised access and where the skip goes all get agreed before we start rather than argued about on day one.
- Segregated working areas
- Site induction and sign-in
- Agreed access and storage
What to send us
Term dates are part of the specification.
Elevations, a window schedule and the dates the school is empty are enough to start. If the work has to happen in term time we will say so, and we will tell you what realistically fits into a holiday rather than promising the lot and running over into September.
- Elevations and schedule
- Term and holiday dates
- Access constraints on site
Project proof

Commercial enquiry
Send us the school and education glazing brief.
Drawings, a window schedule, elevations or site photographs are all useful, and none of them is required. A postcode and a description of the building is enough to get a sensible answer back.
- Phone lines are open 24/7.
- The office team picks up drawings and schedules during working hours.
