Luton homes, and what to check first.
The homes. Luton's older streets grew with the hat trade, with Victorian terraces around High Town and the centre, then large interwar and post-war estates across the rest of the town.
What that means. Terraced houses here often have narrow frontages where the proportions of the windows matter. The interwar and post-war estates are usually straight replacements.
Check first. Plaiters Lea, the old hat district, is a conservation area. In the older streets near the centre, check before changing the front of the house.

Your questions
Buying composite doors in Luton.
Product choices, pricing and what happens before we fit.
Can I design and price my composite door online?
Yes. Our online tool lets you choose a door style, colour, glass and furniture and build a price. A free consultation uses the same software and price list, with colour swatches brought to your home.
How do I get a price for composite doors?
Build your price online using approximate sizes, or book a free consultation and we price the job with you. Both use the same software and price list. Once you decide to go ahead, a technical survey confirms the measurements and fitting details before anything is made.
Do you supply and fit in Luton?
Yes. We cover Luton and its LU1, LU2, LU3 and LU4 postcodes from our Milton Keynes base, and everyone who surveys and fits works for us. Nearby, we also fit composite doors in Dunstable, Toddington and Hitchin.
Do I need permission to replace doors in Luton?
Luton is covered by Luton Borough Council. Like-for-like replacements are usually permitted development, but check first if your house is listed or in a conservation area such as Plaiters Lea.

Really happy with the service we received from Fensters Windows. Aaron and Shane turned up on time and were both really friendly. They explained any issues as they went along and talked us through the different options, which we really appreciated. They did a great job fitting our new back doors and cleaned up everything afterwards. We also paid exactly what we had originally been quoted, with no unexpected extra costs. Really pleased with our new doors and would definitely recommend Fensters Windows. Thank you Aaron and Shane!
