Choosing roof lanterns
Choose the lantern around the room beneath it.
Position and size
Think about the kitchen island, dining table and lighting below. We review the structural opening and upstand details with the roof design.

The glazing affects daylight and solar gain. Tell us how much sun reaches the roof so we can discuss an appropriate glass specification.

Compare the frame colour inside and out. Access, the upstand and the roof finish are checked before the lantern is ordered.

Oldbrook homes, and what to check first.
The homes. Oldbrook sits beside Central Milton Keynes and was built from the late 1970s, with terraces, semis, flats and housing association homes along its redways.
What that means. The houses here are usually straight replacements. Flats and shared buildings follow different rules, and the landlord or management company often has a say in what is fitted.
Check first. If you own a flat or a shared-ownership home, find out who is responsible for the windows before you get quotes. In many leases it is not the occupier.

Buying roof lanterns in Oldbrook.
Product choices, pricing and what happens before we fit.
Should I choose a roof lantern or a flat rooflight?
A lantern rises above the roof with an angled glazed structure; a flat rooflight has a flatter profile. The room layout, roof opening and appearance you want help determine the choice. We can review both with your drawings.
How do I get a price for roof lanterns?
Send us photographs, approximate sizes and your postcode. We review the specification with you and prepare a quote. You can also book a free consultation to discuss the options at home.
Do you supply and fit in Oldbrook?
Yes. We cover Oldbrook and its MK6 postcodes from our Milton Keynes base, and everyone who surveys and fits works for us. Nearby, we also fit roof lanterns in Furzton, Shenley Church End, Great Linford and Monkston.

We have used Fensters for years on a variety of glazing work, and 2 door installations. They are competitively priced and responsive. They take great care over measuring and specifying the work, giving you a clear quote so you understand what you are getting (thanks Perry!). The fitters are all extremely competent and personable. We had to replace our front door for accessibility reasons, they gave us confidence that our requirements would be met, reproduced the intricate leaded and stained-glass pattern of our old door, and did a quality fitting job (thanks to Johnnie and Shane!). In summary they are our go-to suppliers for all replacement and repair work.
