Choosing aluminium sliding doors
Choose the view and the clear opening together.
Tracks and panels
A sliding panel moves behind another pane. The number of tracks and moving panels determines how much of the overall width opens.

Ampthill homes, and what to check first.
The homes. Ampthill is a Georgian market town. Its centre is full of period houses and listed buildings, with Victorian streets around it and newer estates on the edges.
What that means. In the old town, the look of the windows matters as much as their performance, so sliding sash and flush casement styles are the usual choice. The newer estates are simpler replacements.
Check first. The town centre is a conservation area with many listed buildings. Find out whether your house is listed before choosing a style or material.

Buying aluminium sliding doors in Ampthill.
Product choices, pricing and what happens before we fit.
How much of a sliding door opening will be clear?
It depends on the number of panels, the track arrangement and which panels move. Sliding panes overlap when open. We can compare configurations against your approximate opening width before technical survey.
How do I get a price for aluminium sliding doors?
Build your price online using approximate sizes, or book a free consultation and we price the job with you. Both use the same software and price list. Once you decide to go ahead, a technical survey confirms the measurements and fitting details before anything is made.
Do you supply and fit in Ampthill?
Yes. We cover Ampthill and its MK45 postcodes from our Milton Keynes base, and everyone who surveys and fits works for us. Nearby, we also fit aluminium sliding doors in Flitwick, Bedford, Toddington and Woburn Sands.
Do I need permission to replace doors in Ampthill?
Ampthill is covered by Central Bedfordshire Council. Listed buildings need listed building consent for any change to windows or doors, and in the conservation area a change of style or material may need planning permission. On the newer estates, like-for-like replacements are usually permitted development.

Really happy with the service we received from Fensters Windows. Aaron and Shane turned up on time and were both really friendly. They explained any issues as they went along and talked us through the different options, which we really appreciated. They did a great job fitting our new back doors and cleaned up everything afterwards. We also paid exactly what we had originally been quoted, with no unexpected extra costs. Really pleased with our new doors and would definitely recommend Fensters Windows. Thank you Aaron and Shane!
